What are the "defined deductions" when cancelling a semi-flexible ticket
I am looking to book a multi-city itinerary for this June: DFW-IST-TLV-DFW
The Turkish Airlines website is giving me to options to book promotion or semi-flexible. The semi-flexible is $880 more for the four of us than the promotion fare (L class) and as far as I can tell the only benefit of the semi-flexible fare (Q class) is "refund with deduction." When I go to the fare rules online, all I see is "Before the flight: Permitted, subject to defined deductions." but I can't find any place that says what those defined deductions are or how to calculate them. I have already tried calling the call center and the agent could not tell me them either and seemed to just give up on me saying that it was policy to not provide that information (I assume she couldn't find it either). I have tried going all of the way through the booking flow up to where I would need to provide a credit card in hope of seeing that information and that wasn't displayed on the US site.
Does anyone have experience with this fare and what those deductions are or how to calculate them? I am trying to decide whether the semi-flexible fare is worth the upcharge and without that information, I have no way of making that decision. If the deductions are low, this may be worth it in the event some or all of us get sick before the trip, requiring us to cancel.
