I’m not sure if this is still the case, but what I recall from when my partner worked with EK:

• One annual leave ticket, fully confirmed and complete free, for immediate family
• Unlimited ID90s (10% of fare plus taxes and fees) for immediate family. These are subject to availability on flights. Essentially only confirmed an hour before departure.
• Unlimited ID50s (50% of fare plus taxes and fees) for immediate family. These are confirmed tickets, although could be overridden.
• A limited number (four or five?) of ID50s and ID90s for each parent, parent-in-law and sibling.
• Everyone else was classified as a “buddy”. We don’t remember how many buddies you can add, but never hit a limit. These were ID10s, though, and the discount was 10%. 10 tickets per year.
