I’m holding an Economy award and am looking to upgrade either with points or cash. I understand that points upgrade really is just cancel and rebook in U at the U point rate, which is fine. But I called CS in the US and asked if I could be waitlisted for an upgrade and they said yes and did it without asking for points or anything. Waitlist shows in my reservation. Am I now in purgatory? What should my next move be?
