h wait -- it's the PANYNJ.
To be fair, it looks like the new AirTrain alignment is meant to better serve the new location of A and a different future location of a new B/2. One possible inference from this map is that a long-term plan could be:
- Get rid of the “horseshoe” roadway and inner oval of parking
- Construct terminal B/2 to the south of current B, as new terminal A already is south of the horseshoe/old A, possibly allowing room for longer airside piers and more airside movement areas. (This seems analogous to what LGA did, moving the terminals closer to the GCP, opening up more airside room where the roadways previously were.)
If that’s right, then a straight line for the new AirTrain further south, as shown on this map, makes sense… but of course the current horseshoe AirTrain won’t be optimally located in the interim.
I’m not having any success finding a proper master plan or any designs, even conceptual, for a new terminal B/2, so… maybe I’m just extrapolating too much from the map you posted?
