Since he is a Pilot, I've been told he has a bit more privilege in terms of "special tickets" aka friends/family discounts. He mentioned to my wife that he can add around 30 people to an extended family (including me)/friends list.
Now, my wife would get a much better discount but I assume as a standby ticket. My first question is if anyone knows what sort of a discount would I get? Would my discount only apply to a certain class like Y or can I apply it to J/F? I'll assume that if my wife doesn't want to take a risk to save a bit more but on an unconfirmed ticket, could she also purchase a discounted ticket, similar to mine, which would be confirmed?
We want to make some travel plans for the year but I've told my wife that I would only do so if we can get confirmed tickets and not standby (even if that would give me a slightly less discount).
If anyone could shed light on what I can expect in terms of my discount that would be great!
Would your brother in law not be the best person to answer these questions?
