Another weird thing was that no PE seats were at any point available to buy or for upgrade..but that segment was totally full when departed. Also eco side totally packed
There is a lot of discussion about this in the DOH thread. Those flights are practically wetleases for QR. AY only has a few seats in J and a few dozens in Y, and they are earmarked. Ie eg seat 2L is an AY seat and 9L is a QR seat. That is a very unusual way to do it, but that is the reason why AY cannot sell more upgrades if those empty seats are in the QR quota.
Neither airline sells PE, but QR pax can ask for PE seats if they are in the know.
