Will never have enough miles or knowhow to book F in the ultimate F products as they exist now. I have a small inheritance that I want to use as my husband can't complain about the price! Trying to avoid transiting through DEN, EWR, and IAH, and FRA for that matter, (unless i could get on a 747-8).
Got it. I was looking earlier in the schedule when UA is flying the 763 from ORD-EDI, with RT pricing from TUL around $4k. Even though I'm no fan of UA long-haul, I'd probably take that option if it were available to avoid the double connection and save $3k. But for your dates, I see only two stop options, and ZRH is a very nice connection point (I say this sitting in the Galleries lounge at LHR having just endured an absolute nightmare LHR connection - oh how we wished we were connecting through ZRH when we were dealing with the insanity of LHR transit security (twice, thank you very much BA, but that's another story)!)

I'd pay that from SFO or LAX. A little harder to justify for the shorter flight from ORD, but the Welcome service at ZRH is pretty nice. Just be aware the LX ground experience at ZRH is not at the same level as LH at FRA.

Another thing to keep in mind is that November is very far off and you are almost guaranteed to have schedule changes, very possibly more than one, on that itinerary.
