Hi, I have an upcoming avios award booking with QR. BKK-DOH-LHR one-way for 2 pax.

Another flight on the DOH-LHR sector has opened up award space and the timing would work better for us. It's on the same day as the current one in the booking, just a few hours later. When using webchat with QR support they said that it's impossible to do this this as "per our policy we will not be able to change only one sector". I'm happy to pay any change fees or extras if that comes out of repricing it but we didn't get that far and they didn't even want to know the flight number.

I did a search but can't find anything on this policy and it feels like an odd one. Wouldn't they be forcing people to completely cancel and rebook for the smallest thing. Does anyone know if this is their actual policy with award flights? If not, would it be worth checking with a different agent? (which I would do with BA but they are ridiculously inconsistent from one agent to the next)
