AA's wifi, except occasionally on regionals, is the fastest I've had, and it's often available gate to gate. I'm now AA EXP, DL Plat, and UA Gold, and the cost, availability, and speed of wifi on DL and UA simply sucks compared to AA's). Plus, AA has a good two-device plan for $59/mo reliably allows me to use both my phone and my laptop in flight. I would much rather keep all that for the price than see slower but more widely available wifi.
The free aa.com access is largely unusable. The mobile app seems to do OK with it, but the browser route never finishes loading. Tried many times on different planes.
Somewhat related, did the free Apple Music thing expire? Haven't seen that on offer in a long time. I used it often when it was available. I think only on Viasat though.
