From google flights, it appears UA would book you under the LX flight numbers, which is good, you don't want to book the LX flights under UA flight numbers. There used to be an issue with LX not allowing UA ticketed pax into its F lounges, but I believe that's been resolved. You might want to confirm that in the LX forum.
I might also suggest you consider other options in business class for about $10k less, including the UA one-stop via ORD. We recently flew LX F and while it was nice, it is a cut below the world's best F products, and the ground experience at ZRH on the outbound (where you will be taken to the A lounge, rather than the much nicer E lounge) leaves something to be desired. ORD-ZRH is also a bit short to really enjoy the F product. We did however enjoy the tarmac transfer from the A lounge to our onward departure (FCO) in an AMG S Class.
I've found a booking Leaving TUL on Nov 15 thru ORD to ZRH, several hour layover, then EDI, returning the same on the 27th Nov for a hair over 14k. My initial budget was 10k, but UA vie EWR is on a 757, been there done that and did not enjoy and close to 10K. This trip is for my 60th birthday. I can foresee this is my best shot at being upfront. Will never have enough miles or knowhow to book F in the ultimate F products as they exist now. I have a small inheritance that I want to use as my husband can't complain about the price! Trying to avoid transiting through DEN, EWR, and IAH, and FRA for that matter, (unless i could get on a 747-8.
Is 4000 more $$ worth it at all for LX F? super subjective i know.
