It's well known for mountain scenery and hiking.
Last time I spent 4 days in Tbilisi taking in some of their museums (they have a unique history really being at the crossroads of civilisations), soviet architecture and monuments. The old town is easily walkable for a few days and there is a funicular with great views. Mostly I loved the food which is interesting and enjoyable (if you like coriander, walnuts and a touch of chilli) together with lots of their local bread. Their wine is also spectacular. Saparavi is a grape variety we don't see very much in the west and Georgians have a tradition of maturing it in clay pots rather than "western technology" ie. oak barrels. They have some of the oldest wine making in the world. We also flew onwards to Baku which is totally different again but also worth seeing.
This year we will be spending a few days in Batumi and taking the Stadler train across to Tbilisi and will also do a few day tours from Tbilisi. And we'll do some of the day trips from this list

Armenia, lots of mountains, making Kachapuri all sound like fun.
