The link to BA.com with ITA Matrix Power Tools errors out on me. I was going to use AARP and/or Chase discounts, and very strongly prefer not to book through third parties to minimize IRROPS management risks.
since I can't see the fare code or the price, I can't help, sorry.
you can't book those on ba.com you have to call. tell them that you can't book anything online because of their IT. they will usually waive the fee.
try LAX-SFO-JFK or LAX-JFK-BOS or similar. a 2nd US stop might be possible
