I didn’t recall my upgrade requests having a TTL (they seem to stick there until after departure if they don’t clear). So my point is the confirmed upgrade have to be manually cancelled by an agent, not via an automatic process?
TTL can be set at the PNR level by booking agent as a reminder that ticket needs to be issued by a certain time, but TTL can also be set by the system at the segment level for auto-cancellation if no ticket number is associated by then. These are different fields in a PNR.
