On edit: Since the FREE WiFi is offered to ALL SkyMiles Members, then having or not having a TMobile account wouldn't matter and probably any type of device will be able to utilize the service. That's just my guess for now.

And maybe instead of entering a TMobile cellphone number, you enter you SkyMiles account number? We'll find out soon enough.

After reading the initial details, the SkyMiles Member will login to the free Wi-Fi with their Delta Login Credentials.
The T-Mobile free service doesn't work for tablets even with a T-Mobile plan.

This is not really "free" WiFi as T-Mobile is paying Delta for the sponsorship. What T-Mobile wants out of it is additional customer data harvesting.

What happens to the monthly domestic and global plans after Feb 1st? The T-Mobile sponsorship income has to exceed the lost individual plans as Delta is not investing a lot of R&D money for no ROI.
