I think I was lucky after reading the above!

I wondered how it would read a passport (and didn't want to look like a dweeb tring to work it out!) so I just used my credit card.

It all worked well and I may be daring, but I think it was even better than BA self service as it let me check me and my partner in at the same time and there were no hassles about the boarding pass! It cut out the step of chosing seats again, which does save time, but it does mean if new ones had become available you do miss out.

No probs at the fast bag drop, but it was a Monday afternoon. I was a bit concerned when the check in staff stressed we had to be at the gate 40 minutes beforehand. This it turns out was because we were bussed to our plane on a stand. While I missed going down the airbridge, walking up the planes own stairs (Fokker50) was fun. ^

Surprised how empty this flight (and the outbound on Friday morning) were. If it's the time of year then they should drop the price to compete with the ~£70 the other schedule airlines charge.

Also they should check their sandwiches. The outbound sandwiches had expired the day before! The crew apologised but said there was nothing else. We had already been delayed 2.5hours so were quite willing to risk it. Strangely the inbound sandwich, which still had 2 days left, didn't taste much better!!!
