You are spot on..... they did serve spirits many years ago but folk used to get very drunk and boisterous, i remember Kay ( ex executive lounge employee) telling me this one night a few years back , since then they stopped it .
Just staff serve it. It's not an issue at other properties where they do that. It should be no different to premises where it's an offence to serve the intoxicated under the Licensing Act.
It's just penny pinching.
