If you do ask them to check them through then as the poster above suggests definitely show the bag tags to the BA handling agent at AMS.
I recently had QR interline my bags from a BKK - DOH - AMS flight onto a BA connection. When I approached the BA gent at AMS they couldn't tell me whether they had received my bag or not.
