Started the day off in the Gold Lounge, then proceeded to gate C61 as late as I possibly could with the train
. After about ten minutes there, the announcement was made that the flight is significantly delayed without any info about the delay. I went to the gate agent and she told me that the aircraft has gone tech
. New aircraft is needed and its likely to be from 5B.
Regardless of that info about the new provisional gate, I headed off to the lounge at 5B using the walkway on level -4, and then spent about 30 minutes there until the actual new gate update appeared on my phone
. A17.
So of course, headed down to level -4 again and walked all the way back to 5A and back to the Gold Lounge for another 45 minutes, and then off to A17 where we finally boarded.
To me, it was a fun and interesting experience to do 5A > 5C > 5B > 5A all in one day
.. no problems
.. but my question is this:
What about all the passengers at C61 - pretty much a full flight with people of all ages
.. what is the policy for them
are they informed to take the long walk from 5C to 5A via the level -4 walkway and specifically told that you cannot take the train back, or are they all escorted by staff
. Or does something else happen? Surely by accident, some of those passengers are going to get on the train anyway and find themselves in arrivals causing even more delays
..
So the train from 5A to 5B and then to 5C is departure only and the train from 5C to 5B and then to 5A is arrival only?
I learn something new today
