Thanks for the info. J=9 right now. I think I’ll buy 3 round trip tickets in Z there, and M economy back for me, my spouse and one child. Then, I’ll call GS to have them open award space for the flight there (with me in my Z ticket) for a single 60k redemption for my second child. And then book a separate everyday mileage award in economy for the return flight for that same child at 70K. (And hope a single seat opens at 30K prior to departure and rebook). I’ll then add PP for the economy segments and hope they clear at some point through the normal methods.

Does it make any difference that the flight there involves a short domestic segment before the international one in terms of opening award space? All on UA metal.

Am I understanding this all correctly? Thanks very much - appreciate your help!
