To slightly correct myself LOL. I may have deduced the reason. EF may enlighten as below.

We could possibly go through MNL on CX about 6 times in the next few months. Mostly en route to Australia. I checked loadings on EF - and it is very obvious currentlyy that revenue traffic on the route in J is exceedingly thin.

Possibly nothing new in that. When we lived in Macau we had a near 100% upgrade from Y to J both ways over holiday periods. Even on redemption tickets ---- and my partner was only BA Blue even if I had OWE.
