That's entirely possible, however for multi-night scenarios, it is a good idea. Again, too many scenarios to walk through. Key logs can only take you so far and simple things like room deliveries (not from the hotel, but uber and whatnot) can confuse systems. No system is perfect unfortunately.

I generally am not too concerned as I use the door latch "chain" on top of the deadbolt (and in some places, I also use one of those door stopper alarms.... get caught by that one or two times and most housekeepers will likely stop opening your door.
