Question on seat selection. I am Gold on American (OW Ruby). I have just booked some flights using AA miles - the domestic legs are on AA, the international legs are on QR. It seems I cannot choose ANY seats at all without paying a fee. I am on the verge of getting AA Plat / OW Sapphire status. Once that occurs, will I then be able to choose seats with no fee?
