Stayed here over Christmas. Booked a Terrace room for $59 with a Amex Bonvoy Business card rate, and was pre-upgraded to a Sea-view room. Messaged about any suite upgrades and they gave me a choice of a ground floor suite with no view and the Sea-view room. Stuck with the Sea View.
More on the Terrace rooms - there are about 10 of these rooms that are basically in the basement of the first tower. They are currently all out of service and are all stripped of their bedding and are unused. You can walk by all of them and look in, some even have their doors completely open to the outside (exterior corridor). They are of a slightly different layout from the normal rooms, and are decidedly lower in quality than the main rooms. Bathroom is smaller with no tub. I'm sure that the $59 rate that I found is a mistake from somebody not zero'ing out all the inventory in the system.
The property felt strangely empty although there were plenty of people around in the restaurant for breakfast and Christmas Eve Dinner. They could not provide me any sort of late check out when I asked the evening before and day of checkout. Late check out was offered on check in, but I didn't take it as I didn't think I would need it at the time.
Breakfast was decent, and they did change up some of the items between the two nights I stayed. Also offered were elite drinks between 5-7pm or something like that at the bar. Did not attend.
Very easy to get a Grab - seems like there is usually at least one or two parked on the street right outside.
Beach was red-flagged while I was there. The sea looked very rough. The beach is pretty much an afterthought here.
