Adrian Zecha was a regular client for several years here before he expressed major interest in the hotel. He bought the property in 1990, giving free rein to Aman’s renowned architect Ed Tuttle to refashion the outside structure of the building, inspired by the region’s medieval fortresses. The old hotel that had opened as Le Savoy in 1955 is rebaptized Le Mélezin in 1992
