Hi,

I'm looking at booking my daughter back from SYD to MAN via DOH using Avios, ideally on the same date if not the same flights as myself and my wife. As there appears to be no availability booking SYD-DOH-MAN, I have looked for other options, and there is availability on QR flying from MEL, ADL or PER to DOH (as per the image at the bottom of the post) where she can connect into the same flight as us to MAN.

Having checked the BA website, there is Avios availability using Qantas to all three airports from SYD, but there is then the risk that if made on a separate booking and the flight from SYD is delayed, there is no obligation on Qatar to rebook her on another flight. However, when I look at cash flights on the QR website, it does show all of the above three options bookable as a single ticket.

I have checked with BA, and they can book it as a single ticket using Avios, but this falls under the One-World pricing table for flights with two or more OW airlines, costing 90,000 Avios as opposed to around 55,000 Avios if the flight from SYD is booked separately. However, I cannot see any option to book the same flight using Avios on the QR website. If I try using the "Book Using Avios", it won't show the SYD-MEL/ADL/PER-DOH-MAN options. If I try using the "Redeem with Partners" option, it limits me to a single airline so unable to look at using Qantas/Qatar in combination. And when I was trying to look at this last night, the QR app seemed to be suggesting there was the option to use cash and Avios:1. Log in to your Privilege Club account and search for your flight.
2. When you reach the payment stage, select 'Cash + Avios' as your payment option.
3. Use the slider tool to select the number of Avios to use towards your payment, starting from as little as 1,250 Avios.
However, using the book flights with cash option, when I get to the payment page, there is no option to select Cash + Avios, and I cannot use the Book using Avios option as, noted above, it will not give me the option of the SYD-MEL-DOH-MAN routing.

With apologies for the waffling above, I guess that I am trying to establish whether or not the SYD-(MEL/ADL/PER)-DOH-MAN flight is bookable as a single Avios reward with Qatar, and if so, if this is something that I need to call them about? If anyone could advise, I would be extremely grateful.
