I have a theory that the reason it hasn't been fixed is that it isn't actually that common outside of FF circles because most people don't bother a hoot looking at MMB before they are actually told they need to check-in and will only upload their documents when the email comes.
My misfortune was a few months back and I had received a sneaky EF email to tell me that a seat I wanted was free and when I logged on to MMB I saw the link to upload my documents and thought "I'll get the jump on this, haven't even got the email yet!" and it was back to a 6am visit to the check-in desk for me despite a pleading call to the GGL line to fix who didn't really seem to know anything about it which I assume is because no other GGLs are as stupid as me and they are all up to date with the latest FT advice.....
