I know this particular hotel has new management, but now Hilton's new policy will make it pretty easy for any hotel in their portfolio to do whatever they want to. That's a real shame. I've stayed at this Embassy for 20 years, but when my husband's with me, we need a more quiet room. I don't appreciate the non-recognition of my loyalty.
Embassy Suites is listed as excluded from the Upgrade policy ; so what you experienced with them makes more sense than the OP's example with Doubletree that is not excluded.
