The free travel insurance with the (also free) HSBC premier account is pretty good - covers up to 31 days per trip, £10m emergency medical and £7.5k cancellation/abandonment.

Apparently also £1k for missed departure, not sure if that's applicable because you fell asleep in the lounge though...
