Salient point. I'm going to have to do a deep dive into each State's pros & cons before making a decision, one that I would prefer never having to make again. So, it's important to get it right the first time. Thus far, Utah & Colorado sound ok, at least from my first impressions.
Not to mention homeowners and car insurance issues / costs amongst many other considerations. For instance, liquor stores have been closed in Texas since Saturday night and won't reopen until tomorrow. Why? Jesus, plus a legal holiday the following day. And wouldn't be surprised if it isn't the only state. All that said, I'm in no rush to ever leave where I live. That that said, I am glad not to own a public-facing business in CA (or anywhere for that matter) and glad not to have employees.
