Twice recently I’ve ‘lost ‘ my exit row seats reservations (free as a gold) when the exit row has moved from row 11. Does this also mean that those in row 13 luckily got exit seats for free?

thanks
The aircraft with rows 12 and 13 as exit rows are almost always Gatwick based and were acquired 2nd hand. They have an extra row of seats at the front on the left hand side where the cupboard would normally be. Hence why the row numbers behind it are higher than aircraft without the additional row of seats.
The rebooking algorithm seems to stick to the row number regardless of whether it is an exit or not.
The obvious solution is to always book row 12 on a A320 if available but that doesn’t help for example when the aircraft switches to an A319 and the single exit row of seats is row 10.
