It would be exceptionally unusual — borderline unprecedented — for UA to treat an overnight transfer on LHR-IAH-BZE as a stopover. With the exception of intra-North America, ATPCO standards are that anything less than 24 hours is not a stopover, and I’ve never seen UA violate this.

Even if it were, it should still return those flights, and it’s just not. Google Flights comes up with the itinerary easily but instead of a link to United.com, it says “call United to book.” If you do multi-city search, and you leave an extra day in Houston — so, forcing a stopover — then it will show you the nonstop, but if you try it as a simple overnight, the search results all disappear.

It gets weirder, in fact — if you look at the flight options listed for a simple overnight transfer, they all have an LH-operated segment. At no point does it even list a stop in Chicago, Newark, or DC. But, again, add the extra day in Houston and suddenly those options appear too.

ITA Matrix prices the flights just fine.

It’s acting as though it’s specifically suppressing LHR-IAH-BZE and it’s not behavior I’ve ever seen before.
