UA bought the A321XLR as well, which I presume will have lie-flat J on it but aren't starting to be delivered until 2024. I was under the assumption that the A321neos would be used solely for domestic and nearby international (i.e. Canada, Mexico, Central America) which would not necessitate installation of lie-flat seating.

More curious to see how UA handles any lift in TPAC flying, as they have reoriented heavily towards Europe, particularly for summer flying, and are using non-772HD widebodies for TCON/Hawaii routes far more than they used to pre-pandemic. Only taking delivery of 2 more 78Js this year doesn't suggest they will have much/any slack if China joins the rest of the world in effectively moving past pandemic policies/precautions.
