Rooms/Facilities
The guest rooms have zero soundproofing. We spent the entire day listening to screaming children outside and loud conversation in the hallways and in the adjacent rooms. Water temperature in showers fluctuated constantly. We spent most of our showers fiddling with the knobs and dodging sudden bursts of cold and hot water. The bathroom lighting is also extremely dim, possibly some of the darkest showers I have ever seen. Heating broken / not available at night despite low temps in the 50s. Half the elevators for our 7-story building were out of service. “Premium” wifi was also a joke, unstable connection, terrible speeds, nearly unusable for much of our stay.
Restaurants
“Asian” food at Dozo restaurant was a complete joke. Tempura served without tempura sauce (none available even after asking), nigiri sushi served on refrigerated rice, “sashimi” served as random bits of fish pieces, “seaweed salad” served as a garden salad plus a sprinkling of dried seaweed, sambal shrimp entree made using a pinch of the tiniest shrimp I’ve ever seen in my life. Wine glasses served with lipstick marks. Food allergies constantly forgotten about. At Hacienda/Cortez, impossible to get a server’s attention. Consistently waited 20 minutes at a table before a server would come to take our order. At the Healthy Corner, poke bowls made with the worst rice I’ve ever had in my life, nearly inedible from being undercooked. No restaurant reservations available for Globalists for our entire 4-night stay.
Housekeeping
Consistently failed to clean our room during the day when the privacy sign was not on, and consistently ignored the privacy sign at night and knocked to ask if we needed things.
I normally love staying at Hyatts, but I can’t recommend the Ziva Los Cabos unless you don’t mind the type of experience described above.
At the end of our stay we decided to get a quick burger next to the poke place. My bacon burger was ok but my wife’s mushroom and Swiss had just that. No patty! We just laughed and were happy we were leaving and only stayed one night.
