Given Malaysia is the topic of this thread note that some days there is F through to KUL on the A330 (not 787) which is a delightful bizarre experience with six seats in F and a large sofa at the front of the cabin for no apparent reason. It’s possible to book LHR-MCT-KUL all in F on WY, I’ve done it before.

Hope this helps!

Hi lost_in_translation, many thanks, enjoyed reading your post.

That’s not nitpicking but genuinely useful info. 👍 Plus, this is Flyertalk after all !!

On the matter of last-minute swaps, I’d like to think (?) that these will gradually become less common as WY seek to ‘regularise’ their fleet. (I myself have been lucky in always getting the a/c type specified at time of booking). Like so many carriers, their future development plans would have been inhibited significantly by the pandemic. LHR seems likely to get its second frequency back fairly soon …… I do know that my own LHR flight was 100% full in all cabins, and the demand is undoubtedly there.

Specifically on Malaysia, and the ‘delightful bizarre experience’ (as you rightly put it !)) in F when the 330 is used for KUL services …… yes, can only concur. Even experienced crew members remain a little bemused by the somewhat surreal front sofa and I couldn’t resist taking a photo of it whilst en route from MCT-KUL a few years back …………
