Have just done (earlier in December) four sectors with Oman, one of which was BKK-MCT. Once aboard, I was a little surprised to see that it carried an F cabin, though I’m not 100% sure it was actually available for reservation, in the way that the LHR route (and generally CDG too) always is. It seems that when they use a 787 for routes other than LHR and CDG, there will, by definition, be an F cabin. But whether or not it is loaded into the res system is a little unclear.
Just to nitpick a bit given WY is my specialist subject, WY has three 787 configurations of which only one of the 787-9 ones with, I think, just two frames has F so it definitely isn’t the case there will be an F cabin if it’s a 787!
WY do sell F on BKK but you are subject to the whims of an aircraft swap taking away F at any time and WY can truly rival QR for spontaneous aircraft swaps! CDG doesn’t get F, I believe the current F routes are LHR (every day), FRA (some days), KUL (some days) and BKK (some days). I’ve also seen in on MUC recently but doesn’t seem to be the plan going forward. Historically LHR got F twice daily and some/all of the other routes will then lose F when that happens as there aren’t enough frames.
Given Malaysia is the topic of this thread note that some days there is F through to KUL on the A330 (not 787) which is a delightful bizarre experience with six seats in F and a large sofa at the front of the cabin for no apparent reason. It’s possible to book LHR-MCT-KUL all in F on WY, I’ve done it before.
Hope this helps!
