Hi guys, I'll be staying here as my first luxury booking with my mom and am very excited! Had some quick noob questions that was hoping you guys could help clarify.
Congratulations, I’m sure you’ll love this hotel.
1. I saw turndown service being mentioned, what exactly is this? I saw it being described as them refilling the waters in the room and the nespresso cups. Is this essentially it or is there something else to it I am missing?
Kind of, yep. It’s like a brief housekeeping in the evening to ge the room ready for bed.
fresh towels, remake the bed, put out your dressing gown, “turn down” the lights and curtains etc.
It’s what people complain about missing when they’re too spoiled ;p
2. For the tea and happy hour in the executive lounge (not sure if I'll even have access as a gold?). Is this complimentary or something that will be billed to my room?
Exec lounges are generally entirely complimentary. Alcohol, 3-5 meal services etc. you probably won’t get access but YMMV. It’s normally ~100USD-200USD extra per room of 2, in this level of hotel
3. I booked this through amex FHR, which includes a room upgrade. However, I am also a hilton gold member, which can also get you upgraded? Is it possible to get 2 upgrades (probably not, but figured i'd ask
)
In theory they stack but as gold is a minimal upgrade it’s hard to say what you’ll get, and it’s unlikely to be exec or suite, but possible.
