Hotel Indigo Miami Brickell
Hotel Indigo Miami Brickell
What is your Priority Club status?
Diamond
Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Generally, but very disappointed that the diamond breakfast was the "free" breakfast at the co-located Atwell Suites. I had mistakenly assumed breakfast would be offered at Indigo's Mosaico restaurant.
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Stay 1, booked King and was upgraded to King Suite (received notice via email). Stay 2 booked King, no upgrade (didn't bother to request one at check-in).
How are the rooms?
Fine - clean, furnishings nice and new, outlets and USB in appropriate places. The bathroom door is a sliding barn door type - in one of our rooms it wouldn't stay open, which was annoying. The toggle in the shower to switch from rain shower to handheld was placed so high that I couldn't reach it (I'm 5'6").
How is the exec. lounge?
No exec lounge, but I'll report on the 24th floor breakfast area for Atwell Suites since this is what you get for your Diamond breakfast. Breakfast is available 7:30-9:30am on weekdays (not sure about weekend hours) and has the same menu daily: Jimmy Dean egg sandwiches, egg white & veg omelets, overnight oats, yogurt, granola, oranges, bananas, cold cereal, oatmeal, bagels, toast, "churro" donuts. There's a juice machine, a water machine (still and sparkling) with flavors you can add, hot water machine and a choose your coffee/latte machine. There is no brewed coffee, so the line for the coffee machine is long and annoying.
The beverages are available 24/7 (as is the space). It gets very busy during breakfast hours, but it's a nice place to grab a coffee at off hours. There are two outdoor balconies with seating and great views. For Atwell Suites it's the third place concept. So, although I was disappointed about my breakfast, it was nice to have access for drinks at other times of day, and for the views.
What was good and what was bad?
Excellent location for taking public transportation - 1 block to what was essentially a hub for free trolleys, free Metromover, and Metrorail. Our second stay, there was no a/c working in the room and maintenance said it was out on the whole floor. It was bearable during a cool snap, so we didn't ask to be moved. But that could have been a real issue. Front desk personnel - our first check-in the guy was very friendly and accommodating (he also gave us ALL Diamond benefits - breakfast, points and drinks). I wondered if he was generous since the breakfast benefit was so poor. On our second visit the gal was efficient, but really offputtingly unfriendly - not a single smile. She didn't offer an upgrade, I didn't ask. I did ask for the breakfast and that's what she gave me.
Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Disappointment around breakfast aside, I'd return. It was a reasonable rate and a good, central location.
