Picking up from the 2022 thread United Airlines Fleet Updates [2022 Edition]

Basic summary of 2022 Fleet changes:
All 777 Fleet back in service
6x 78J’s delivered
789 Polaris/PE mods completed
764 Polaris/PP mods commenced
763 Hi-J Polaris/PP mods completed
763 lo-J PP mods commenced
752 slimline mods began again
18x 7M9 delivered

16x 7M8 delivered
2x A320s re-joined fleet (previously exited UA frames)
1x 763 exited fleet due to corrosion

4x E175s delivered
17x E175SCs parked due to pilot shortage
23x CR5s parked due to pilot shortage
2x E170 exited the fleet
4x CR5s were added to the fleet
14x ER4s exited the fleet

8x CR2s exited the fleet


Jan 2023 United Fleet & 2023 Outlook:

A319 fleet: 81 total– all purchased frames have entered fleet. No changes anticipated


A320 fleet: 99 total – some possible retirements as 7M8 deliveries continue

A321neo fleet - None, first 6 units scheduled for delivery in late 2023

73G fleet: 40 total in service – no changes anticipated

738 fleet: 141 total – no changes anticipated

739 fleet: 148 total – no changes anticipated; Re-alignment to 20/45/114 configuration will continue

7M8 fleet: 32 total – deliveries continue through 2023

7M9 fleet: 48 total – deliveries continue through 2023


752 fleet: 40 total – slimline mods continue through 2023

753 fleet: 21 total – no changes anticipated


**Narrowbody interior refresh program expected to begin in 2023

763 fleet: 37 total – 24x 46J/PP, 12x 30J/ no PP, 1x 30J/24PP, All remaining 30J frames to get PP in 2023


764 fleet: 16 total – Polaris/PP modifications to continue and complete in 2023

772 fleet: 19 total – 28F domestic config, no changes anticipated


77E fleet: 55 total – 51 in Polaris/PP config; 4 in 32F domestic config, no changes anticipated

77W fleet: 22 total – all with Polaris/PP, no changes anticipated

788 fleet: 12 total – all with Polaris/PP, no changes anticipated

789 fleet: 38 total – all with Polaris/PP, no changes anticipated

78J fleet: 19 total - all with Polaris and PP, 2 deliveries expected in 2023

CRJ-200 fleet: 172 Total (64 Air Wisconsin, 108 SkyWest) plus 9 floaters – Air Wisconsin fleet to be completed removed in 2023. Skywest fleet may fluctuate but will remain essentially the same this year

CRJ-550 fleet: 59 total (all GoJet) – 23 frames parked. Return to service and growth of fleet dependant on pilot availability

CRJ-700 fleet: 19 total (all SkyWest) – No changes anticipated

CRJ-900 fleet: None – Mesa to temporarily add CR9 units in 2023 while Embraer fleet is shuffled amongst the UAX carriers

E170 fleet: 36 total (all Republic) – fleet will continue to draw down in 2023

E175SC fleet: 45 total (25 SkyWest, 20 Mesa) – 17 frames parked which should return to service when able to staff. No other changes anticipated


E175 fleet: 157 total, 6 parked (65 SkyWest, 60 Mesa, 32 Republic) – maximum cap of 153 in-service units. Expect some shuffling, with 153 in service

ERJ-145 fleet: 65 total (all CommuteAir) – Interior refreshes continue. No other changes anticipated.

** note CRJ-200 fleet numbers differ from the UA fleet plan because I have included all frames where UA does not include pro-rate contract planes
