I shall put this question here, if I may, as it is tenuously connected to the original question (especially given the OP's handle...).

If one has a UK-EU flight booked, then a next-day EU-AUS flight, what happens if BA loses luggage on the UK-EU sector? The EU-AUS departs early the next morning, so there is little to no chance of any stray baggage arriving in time to make that departure. Is BA liable only to get the baggage to the EU destination, or is it liable to ensure that the luggage arrives at a city of the passenger's choosing (in this case, Sydney!)? Logic suggests the latter (taking cruise passengers as an obvious example), but is this another risk factor when playing ex-EU roulette?

HBO is not an option, in this instance.
