It certainly would! I don't see value in burning RDM at 1 cpm but it is an option. It also has to be done at the time of booking so not inline with using miles on an existing reservation.

I value AS RDM at 2 cpm so essentially you are paying $259 + $400 = $659. Using miles & money, for me, is the worst possible redemption. I know others, including yourself, find value because your F is confirmed, it includes baggage, 50% more EQM and additional RDM so definitely a YMMV situation. With the loss of AL access on paid F below 2,000 miles devalues that too.
