Datapoint Update: Called yesterday to close UA Club biz card, ~ 28-30 days from AF posting. Was told, 3 times, that Chase will refund/credit 100% of AF up to
90 days from AF posting. 0-41 days it’s automatic with closure, 42-90 days it’s manual which (upon asking) I was told does not take any longer. None of that applies to downgrading.
Now that it’s ski season, I’d like to maintain uninterrupted UA Club access. I plan to apply (again) for the UA Club personal card next week. Hopefully Chase will cooperate with a quick approval and then I’ll find out for certain if the AF on the Club biz card is refunded between 30 and 41 days, I prefer not to be a test pilot for the 90 day timeframe.
Updated Datapoint Update: The 41 and 90 day information was so surprising and unexpected that I called again about 12 hours later to confirm with a different agent. Agent answered “I’m XXXX with the Chase Executive team”. I said I dialed Chase biz card customer service, agent said “we’re back-up for them”.
I said with over 40 years as a Chase credit card customer, I was so surprised with the 90 days that I wanted to confirm that information. Agent said “that’s correct, last night you actually spoke with a specialist who told you more information than he/she should have.” I thanked the agent for the holiday gift and ended the call.
Still not sure how long I’ll test it, I’ll report here when I do close the account.
