AFAIK, the odd-numbered gates in Concourse C (with the possible exception of Gate 33?) can all handle international arrivals and flow arriving passengers to the CBP facility. Many of them are narrowbody gates, as there are a number of narrowbody international arrivals, mostly Caribbean.
As for widebody-capable gates, there are a number of gates in Concourse C that can handle widebodies. Just that, unlike Gate 47 and kinda sorta 31, they can't use them for widebodies without blocking adjacent gates (although some can handle 767s without blocking adjacent gates, and I assume some of it was designed around the large number of 767s formerly in AA's fleet). So when a lot of widebodies are using Concourse C, gate utilization goes down.
