There are a number of ex-RAF Chinook pilots working for BA these days, and most wouldn't go near one again for love nor money. They have a history of 'mysterious' crashes in the military, and I've seen some fairly horrific pictures of one chaps own accident in one of those machines!

By the way, I think the accident report on the S61 stated it was caused by failure of a rotor blade which had been repaired in accordance with approved techniques following a lightning strike. This led to a requirement to check every rotor blade in service and a complete re-appraisal of the repair techniques, which hopefully will prevent a repeat of that tragedy.
