Current AA Exec Plat with a OneWorld lean, but I expect some of these flights will be on Star Alliance (UA, NZ, OZ - while still in the alliance), SQ) due to timing and/or price.
For all around best balance of benefits and program service, what is the recommended airline program?
How long for in AU? A few months/years or for ever?
Objectives from a ffp?
The upgrade policy of USA airlines and non USA airlines is very different. On non USA airlines always expect to fly in the class you buy.
Premium cabin awards (business- first) AU<---->USA are hard to get with all ffp's.
Australia does not have a local Star Alliance airline (RIP Ansett).
VA Virgin Australia is ff partner of UA, SQ, AC and QR (Qatar)
Air NZ has a very poor ffp, unless living in NZ and can get airdollars (~ff miles) from non flying activity.
