Despite claims of Government scrutiny, Management commitments to address systemic issues, history suggests a more cynical result: promotions, aggressive marketing to make amends.
If loyalists are truly fed up with the status quo, there is an easy way to send a strong message to management that they must act: Join a one day boycott; either avoid travel entirely, or use another carrier, form of transportation. In today's interconnected society, it would not take much to get the word out, message would quickly go viral through social media and the press.
