Maybe. I don’t know if that would be feasible or accomplish much.
But I suspect there will be lots of shifts away from LUV when other airlines are comparable or a little bit more.
I have a business trip in March. Round-trip on WN was $598, no WGA or WGA+ available, an awful schedule, and no seat assignments. For $623 I can fly AA, use my AS membership to secure a seat assignment in MCE (or whatever they call their premium class), with a better schedule.
I have no problem spending the extra $25 in order to avoid WN. I may just make AS MVPG75 this year because of it. All the other airlines have to do right now is get marginally close to WN’s pricing, and I’ll fly elsewhere.
