Within an international multi-city itinerary, one leg xxx-yyy was canceled. That leg was a codeshare, most of the trip being on the airline metal I booked the ticket from. At the time, the airline could only rebook me to fly days away (7) on the same flight # (something to do with codeshare inventory). I could rebook myself (ie pay for a one way ticket) on that flight number to fly 36 hours away, saving $ in hotel costs (and also making sure I was getting back home on time – that was holidays). I will keep you updated as to what happened. It's been 2 weeks and they usually have a 3-week turnaround time.
thanks looking forward to hearing the outcome
what's the conclusion on this - If an itinerary is not a RT in traditional sense, but rather a trip that is like aaa-bbb-ccc-ddd-aaa , meaning it does loop back to the origin and all segments are paid using amex card (a combination of award and rev tickets), will that be covered under amex policy?
