In my childhood, I flew DL 762s, 763s, and 764s out of LGA (either to ATL or FLL) several times. When landing in the 764 once, I vividly remember the pilot saying that this is the biggest aircraft that LGA can handle, so the landing will be a little rough. Essentially a 'brace yourselves' situation. I miss seeing/flying widebodies out of LGA, especially because I live in Astoria and regularly watch takeoffs and landings from my apartment. Maybe one day, they will return, or at the very least, scheduled 757 service.
