What is the status of your phantom seat booking now on the CX site? Does it still exist or it died as Percysmith mentioned?

The first was DPS - HKG (overnight) - JFK (50k miles per passenger) and the second was AKL - HKG (3 night stopover) - JFK (60k miles per passenger).
[P.S. I also had no difficulty whatsoever in booking multiple CX F seats in November Europe - HKG using AA miles. Originating Madrid and flying via Heathrow or CDG to connect to the F services costs considerably less than originating either London or Paris. Again, the CX space offered (on aa.com in this case) was not phantorm.]
Did you book them on AS website or thru Agent assistance? Did those seats also show up on QF/BA sites?
The issues I encounter now, at least in 2 instances, that both QF/BA showed seats but AS showed none. I wonder if anyone has had success stories that in such situation, given the specifics an AS agent was able to find the seats?
