As far as we can tell from the double tier points thread there are only a few of us who have had the temerity to aspire to, and worse to actually obtain GGL. Far more of the current overspill in the CCR will be the 'landed gentry' whose business travel has sadly has not got back to the previous heights pre-covid and are now facing the horror of returning to silver status and having the shame of boarding with group 2.
As to the main point, I'm not sure a separate tier is needed as most of the comments seem to be about recognition at the gate, on other oneworld airlines and lounge access at JFK.
What would people actually find useful in having a separate tier as a GGL that they don't currently experience?
I am sorry if my post offended you. It was not my intention. In fact, I was going to suggest that BA rope off a small area of the CCR near the kitchen with a big red sign that says “DOUBLE TP GGLs ONLY BEYOND THIS POINT”. Instead of a CCR card you would have to present a bucket and spade made from the nose of an old 767. There would be a kebab stand and a selection of Aldi own brand lager to enjoy and masseur behind a modesty curtain who gave happy endings for five quid. A portaloo would also be on hand for those who over indulged.
But I fear you will take it the wrong way and feign offence again. So I won’t.
